MicroFiction Monday

Once again, time for MicroFiction Monday!  Susan from Stony River gives us a picture, and we take our best 140 characters to bring it to life.  Think it's easy?  You should try it too!  Here's today's:

As much as Delia loved her family’s reunion on the coast, sometimes she had to slip away and just be by herself with the ocean.

And today's "I'd rather be" for Monday:
I'd rather be at work (facing the Audit Committee, ugh) than at home wondering how in God's name my toothbrush ended up in the washing machine.  Really.  Found it last night.  Toothbrush in with the boys laundry as I put it all into the dryer.  I'm not sure I even want to know.  Do you think the Downy will keep my breath fresher longer?

Go ahead and tell me, where would you rather be?

Have a good Monday, all!

I'd rather be at work than trying (unsuccessfully) to go back to sleep. It was a very long night.

I'd rather be sitting with Delia than cleaning my house and then going to work at 3pm.

Oh the toothbrush thing. Sounds like something that would happen around here.

Sometimes even around Loved Ones, you need to get by yourself. Right about now I wouldn't mind sitting on a Rock looking at the Ocean.

I dropped a large clothing tag down my lint trap last week. The dryer hasn't caught on fire yet so I'm figuring it's all good.

LMAO @ the toothbrush. I can relate - The G Man was here for two days last week, and after he left we realized the DVD remote had disappeared. I found it in the laundry room, lurking behind the bottles for our water cooler.

We all have our Delia moments! Great take on the picture.

I'd rather be in a posh resturant rather than facing store bought fish pie!

Note to self: next family reunion should be near large body of water.

Thanks for making me smile.

Delia sounds like me. Too much family togetherness can be a bit wearing.

Sometimes I just have to be by myself at the water's edge, too!!! Good take on this week's picture. Cheers!

How fun is this? Where would I rather be? Honestly, I am happy these days to be right here. I love my little house. I used to run on this errand and that errand and see this person and that person. Now the best times of my day are when that school bell rings and Papa comes through the door. (Not always - I'm not saint. But for the most part. I'm in a new "acceptance" phase of life. Ask me about it the day before my period. It might change.)

nice post!

Makes you doubt sometimes how much Delia really loved her family’s reunion doesn't it? Great twist, M.B! Ha!! :)

I'd rather be riding my motorcycle that I don't have right now. The moon is beautiful and weatherwise we have finally cooled off a bit.

I love the idea of the rock being just a get-away during a family reunion.
